Studio Art 4D Media Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, safety, and instructional support for the Media Lab, Photography Lab, and other digital technology facilities.
• Maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of equipment, including Apple computers, digital imaging software, video/sound equipment, scanners, and various printers (inkjet, laser, large-format, and 3D).
• Support faculty and students through technical demonstrations, office hours, and individual assistance with specialized tools like virtual reality and physical computing devices.
• Manage operational and capital budgets, including planning, purchasing, and tracking expenditures for equipment and supplies.
• Supervise, train, and schedule student workers and lab monitors.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and institutional safety standards, including the maintenance of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records.
• Teach one four-credit course (or two 2-credit courses) per semester within the introductory 4D curriculum.

Requirements

• Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree.
• Extensive experience with digital imaging software.
• Proficiency with video and sound equipment.
• Experience with 3D printers and digital fabrication processes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted for equipment handling and studio maintenance.
