Student Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Register first-year and new transfer students with high accuracy
• Contact new students within 24 hours of deposit to advise on course selection
• Evaluate transcripts and transfer credit documents to determine coursework equivalency
• Act as a liaison between prospective students and university departments regarding registration and degree planning
• Recruit and advise prospective students using CRM software via appointments, phone, and email
• Maintain mastery of university policies, external alliance programs, and community college agreements
• Assist with scheduling initial courses and responding to inquiries regarding academic records

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR an Associate's degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insurable
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for recruitment events

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sales, recruiting, or higher education
• Experience using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software
• Knowledge of FERPA guidelines and current education trends
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations
