Student Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Register first-year and new transfer students with high efficiency.
• Contact new students within 24 hours of deposit to advise on course selection.
• Evaluate transcripts and transfer credit documents to determine coursework applicability and equivalency.
• Act as a liaison between prospective students and university departments to assist with registration and degree planning.
• Recruit and advise prospective students using CRM software through appointments, phone calls, and written correspondence.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of university policies, programs, and community college agreements.
• Assist with scheduling initial courses and responding to inquiries regarding academic records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR an Associate's degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insurable.
• Experience in sales, recruiting, marketing, or higher education is preferred.
• Experience using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize issues, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of FERPA guidelines and current education trends.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong attention to detail and a patient, student-centered approach to service.
