About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, handling inquiries in person, by phone, and via email
- Provide administrative and reception support, including room bookings, mail distribution, and office supply management
- Assist with undergraduate program processes such as course registration inquiries, waitlist support, and basic advising information
- Support the maintenance of undergraduate program records, documentation, and student-facing communications
- Assist with event logistics for departmental activities, including orientation, information sessions, and student engagement initiatives
- Perform general administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and assisting with faculty recruitment logistics
- Update departmental website information and prepare simple communication pieces and announcements
Requirements
- High School graduation plus at least one year of post-secondary education
- Three years of related administrative or customer service experience
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent office software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience using Workday
- High level of attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience handling confidential information in compliance with privacy regulations
