About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic advising and high-touch wrap-around support to undergraduate Nursing students to address academic, personal, mental, financial, and spiritual needs.
  • Proactively monitor student academic progress, course selection, and college requirements to ensure timely graduation.
  • Develop and maintain connections with campus partners such as the Counseling Center, Disability Services, and Financial Aid.
  • Collaborate with student services and support programs to increase the retention and success of diverse and underrepresented minority students.
  • Maintain accurate advising records and academic program plans for assigned advisees.
  • Interpret and advise students on university policies, curriculum requirements, and procedures.
  • Coordinate student-specific logistics including scrubs ordering, CPR classes, and the CNA application process.
  • Support college events such as graduation and commitment to profession ceremonies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 1-3 years of experience in academic advising, teaching, education, counseling, or student affairs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of FERPA and the ability to handle confidential student information with proper judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in student affairs or a related field.
  • Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, and diverse college students.
  • Knowledge of student development theories, retention principles, and student success strategies.
  • Familiarity with university data analytics software such as PeopleSoft, Civitas, or EAB.
  • Experience in recruitment and public speaking.
