About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for prospective and current students in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Provide comprehensive customer service in person, by phone, and via email regarding admissions, registration, testing, advising, and financial aid.
- Support Gateway Connect by scheduling appointments and guiding students through various enrollment processes.
- Refer students and community members to appropriate college resources to ensure their needs are met.
- Provide administrative support to Gateway leadership and assist in maintaining efficient daily operations.
- Serve a diverse population, including adult learners, high school students, faculty, and parents.
Requirements
- Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in business, communications, public relations, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of one year of customer service or customer-facing experience.
- Proficiency in office software applications, email platforms, and web-based systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Experience working in higher education, K-12 education, or other service-oriented sectors like healthcare or banking.
- Experience using CRM systems, student information systems, or appointment scheduling tools.
- Experience supporting non-traditional or first-generation students.
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
