Student Services Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide direct student-facing support and guidance regarding academic processes, program requirements, and University policies.
• Assist students and program directors with tracking degree progress and monitoring course enrollment.
• Support recruitment and retention efforts through proactive outreach, application assistance, and new student orientation coordination.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records in strict compliance with FERPA standards.
• Coordinate with University offices including the Registrar, Financial Aid, Admissions, and Disability Support Services.
• Perform general administrative and clerical duties such as filing, record-keeping, and managing office operations.
• Assist with alumni engagement and commencement-related activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in higher education, counseling, business administration, communications, or a related field.
• One year of experience in customer service, student support, administrative coordination, or office support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
• Knowledge of FERPA and confidentiality standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and oral formats.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as an administrative assistant in higher education, non-profit, or corporate environments.
• Experience specifically supporting graduate or professional programs.
• Experience in academic advising, admissions, enrollment support, or student retention initiatives.
