About the role

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, clean, and organize research datasets, including structured EHR data such as vital signs, lab values, and medications
  • Support data quality checks and generate basic data summaries under supervision
  • Assist with extracting and organizing information from clinical notes using existing tools and workflows
  • Support literature reviews and background research related to AI/ML and clinical research
  • Assist with documentation for data management and research protocols, including data dictionaries and IRB/DUA materials
  • Participate in research team meetings and provide regular updates on assigned tasks

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or R
  • Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Familiarity with NLP techniques and tools (e.g., spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face)
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization
  • Experience working with large datasets and database management
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) or clinical data
  • Familiarity with healthcare terminologies such as SNOMED-CT, ICD, or LOINC
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and research data security requirements
  • Experience with deep learning approaches for clinical Natural Language Processing (NLP)
