About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare, clean, and organize research datasets, including structured EHR data such as vital signs, lab values, and medications
- Support data quality checks and generate basic data summaries under supervision
- Assist with extracting and organizing information from clinical notes using existing tools and workflows
- Support literature reviews and background research related to AI/ML and clinical research
- Assist with documentation for data management and research protocols, including data dictionaries and IRB/DUA materials
- Participate in research team meetings and provide regular updates on assigned tasks
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or R
- Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Familiarity with NLP techniques and tools (e.g., spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face)
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization
- Experience working with large datasets and database management
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) or clinical data
- Familiarity with healthcare terminologies such as SNOMED-CT, ICD, or LOINC
- Knowledge of HIPAA and research data security requirements
- Experience with deep learning approaches for clinical Natural Language Processing (NLP)
