Student Receivables Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve outstanding student balances through phone, email, and written correspondence
• Negotiate and monitor payment arrangements and promissory notes
• Utilize skip-tracing methods to locate students and maintain thorough collection documentation
• Coordinate with third-party collection agencies, including account assignment and settlement
• Manage monthly student billing processes and verify transaction accuracy
• Process weekly student refunds and assist with 1098-T Tuition Statement inquiries
• Monitor student account holds, interest, and potential bad debt write-offs
• Collaborate with university departments to resolve billing disputes and posting issues

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable and consumer collections (within the last 5 years)
• High school diploma or GED
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to perform ten-key by touch
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable and consumer collections
• Experience collecting campus-based loan debt
• Experience using Banner software
