Student Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions in the DCAM Outpatient Pharmacy
• Deliver medications throughout the hospital to patient bedside
• Provide counseling to patients who are discharged on new medications
• Provide acute and comprehensive information about medications and address medication concerns of the patient or caregiver
• Interact with members of the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and care coordinators, to collaborate on medication therapy management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of pharmacy experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting
• Candidates hired during their 2nd year of pharmacy school who can work through graduation
