Student Pharmacy Intern - Outpatient

Responsibilities

• Deliver medications and provide counseling to patients being discharged with new prescriptions
• Provide acute and comprehensive information about medications and address patient or family concerns
• Fill prescriptions within the pharmacy setting
• Retrieve hard copies of prescriptions from patient charts
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to coordinate medication therapy management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of pharmacy experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting
