About the role
Responsibilities
- Remove books from shelving and replace them on different shelves
- Clean shelves and notify professional staff of damaged shelving or items
- Move large amounts of books from one area of the library to another
- Maintain material order and ensure correct placement of items
Requirements
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to perform frequent lifting, bending, and reaching
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to small amounts of dust
- Pre-existing knowledge of Library of Congress call numbers is beneficial but not required
