About the role
Responsibilities
- Inform and advise students and parents regarding available aid programs, eligibility criteria, application processes, and loan obligations.
- Assist in completing and processing financial aid applications and compiling required documentation.
- Prepare loan applications for electronic or manual processing and manage notices of student separations for lending institutions.
- Act as a liaison with lending agencies to investigate application problems and track statuses.
- Maintain general and specialized financial aid files and manual records.
- Perform data entry and information retrieval using computerized financial aid information systems.
- Compile data from various records for internal and external reports on financial aid activities.
- Coordinate with financial aid staff, business office staff, and other University personnel to resolve problems.
- Maintain working knowledge of relevant federal regulations, laws, and standards pertaining to student financial aid.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree plus two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in typing, filing, and general office administration.
- Strong reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Experience maintaining moderately complex manual and computerized information systems.
- Ability to explain technical regulations governing student financial assistance programs.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial matters effectively when dealing with students, parents, and staff.
