Student Dietitian Clinical Placement

Responsibilities

• Provide medical nutrition therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a registered dietitian
• Conduct nutrition interviews and calculate diet prescription recommendations
• Provide nutrition counseling to patients and designated caregivers regarding prescribed renal diets
• Collect data for initial, 90-day, semi-annual, and annual Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Assessments
• Assist in the development and implementation of nutrition plans of care
• Practice writing monthly nutrition progress notes and reviewing monthly nutrition data
• Create nutrition-related projects such as educational handouts, bulletin boards, or patient activities
• Attend Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement and other interdisciplinary team meetings

Requirements

• Enrolled in an ACEND accredited Dietetic Internship or Coordinated Program in Dietetics
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
• Strong customer service skills and a desire to deliver superior patient care
