Student Counsellor

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling sessions to address personal, social, and emotional issues
• Offer crisis intervention and support for students facing urgent emotional challenges
• Develop and implement programmes that promote emotional health, self-awareness, and resilience
• Facilitate workshops on conflict resolution, stress management, and positive behaviour
• Establish anti-bullying programmes and develop behavioural intervention plans
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify and support students with social and emotional needs
• Engage with parents through workshops and meetings regarding student development
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of all counselling sessions and interventions

Requirements

• Degree in education, psychology, or counseling
• At least one year of school-based experience or experience working with students in a counseling capacity
• Strong knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and practices
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with students
• Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and school personnel
