Student Consultant - Small Business Development Center

Responsibilities

• Provide consulting services to local business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in conjunction with SBDC staff
• Assist with small business operations including business plans, market research, and digital marketing
• Conduct client counseling sessions and document detailed session notes and follow-ups
• Help verify client outcomes and milestones to track success
• Maintain and update data within the SBDC Client Activity Tracking System (NeoSerra)
• Support various business aspects such as licenses, permits, website development, and small business loans

Requirements

• Proficiency in desktop publishing, word processing, database management, and Excel
• Strong computer and internet research skills
• Experience in project coordination
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and follow administrative procedures
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to multi-task and take initiative with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual skills (Spanish or Mandarin)
• Two years of administrative, clerical, or office experience
• Knowledge of digital marketing and website development
• Working knowledge of market research tools
