Student-Athlete Academic Advisor

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic academic advising to student-athletes, including course registration, degree planning, and long-term goal setting.
• Develop and monitor individualized academic success plans and track progress through midterm and end-of-term evaluations.
• Empower student-athletes to take ownership of their academic experience by developing decision-making and self-advocacy skills.
• Oversee study hall programming, including supervision, attendance tracking, and communication of outcomes to coaches.
• Monitor and track NCAA, conference, and institutional eligibility requirements to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with faculty, coaches, and campus partners to identify and address academic and personal barriers to success.
• Coordinate travel letters and communicate with faculty regarding student-athlete absences.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field or currently in pursuit of a Master's degree.
• Demonstrated knowledge of academic advising practices.
• Proficiency in utilizing computerized registration and degree audit applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with students, faculty, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SCT Banner, EAB Navigate360, or Degree Works.
• Experience interpreting and administering academic policies.
• International, cultural, or language experiences and skills.
