Student Assistant (Tutor)

Responsibilities

• Provide academic assistance to assigned tutees through individual or group sessions
• Help students develop positive attitudes toward learning, study skills, and academic motivation
• Assist students in achieving a better understanding of specific subject matter and improving academic capabilities
• Maintain detailed records of each student being tutored, including follow-up and periodic assessments
• Collaborate with Enrollment Management Student Advisors to provide feedback regarding student progress
• Assist the Office of Enrollment Management with data collection and reporting related to tutor usage and student progress
• Attend periodic training sessions to increase competency in working with students

Requirements

• Currently enrolled student at Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) pursuing a degree in a Health Professions discipline
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
• Must have received a grade of "B" or higher in the specific course(s) intended for tutoring
• Ability to travel to various Rutgers School of Health Professions campuses
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evening and weekend assignments
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
