About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage undergraduate, masters, PhD, and postdoctoral education programs in coordination with faculty leads.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students and trainees, providing guidance on curriculum, registration, and university policies.
- Facilitate recruitment, admissions, and enrollment processes for departmental programs.
- Coordinate and staff large-scale student services events, including recruitment events, seminars, and retreats.
- Assist with curriculum management, including course scheduling, GSI assignments, and teaching evaluations.
- Administer student admissions and matriculation in collaboration with the Rackham Graduate School and other university offices.
- Support departmental training grants through progress reports, renewal applications, and data maintenance.
- Oversee mentorship programs and provide administrative support for departmental committees.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in academic program management, student services, or student advising.
- Proven experience leading recruitment, admissions, and marketing efforts for graduate or postdoctoral programs.
- Demonstrated experience organizing and providing support for academic or professional events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine organizational structure.
- Experience using Zoom or other virtual meeting platforms.
- Experience managing social media platforms for professional or academic use.
- Experience tracking and projecting departmental expenses.
