About the role
Responsibilities
- Promote academic, social, and personal success for a caseload of over 25 students
- Schedule school visits and meet with guidance counselors and teachers to discuss academic progress
- Develop individualized action plans and conduct weekly advisement or counseling sessions with students
- Create curriculum and lesson plans for career and college preparation workshops
- Maintain detailed student files and draft case notes to document progress
- Foster and maintain consistent parent involvement for all assigned students
- Support agency-wide programs and events
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 1 year of experience working in youth development
- Knowledge of the New York City school system
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage students
- Highly organized, patient, and motivated professional
