Student Advocate

Responsibilities

• Promote academic, social, and personal success for a caseload of over 25 students
• Schedule school visits and meet with guidance counselors and teachers to discuss academic progress
• Develop individualized action plans and conduct weekly advisement or counseling sessions with students
• Create curriculum and lesson plans for career and college preparation workshops
• Maintain detailed student files and draft case notes to document progress
• Foster and maintain consistent parent involvement for all assigned students
• Support agency-wide programs and events

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• At least 1 year of experience working in youth development
• Knowledge of the New York City school system
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage students
• Highly organized, patient, and motivated professional
