Student Accounts Specialist

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile student account transactions, including payments, refunds, and charges
• Respond to student and family inquiries regarding account balances, payment plans, and financial aid
• Maintain accurate student account records and ensure timely posting of transactions
• Collaborate with the Financial Aid Office to resolve discrepancies and assist with disbursements
• Manage the collections process for former student accounts and work with external agencies
• Monitor delinquent accounts and develop resolution strategies
• Oversee the write-off process for uncollectible accounts in compliance with university policies

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in student accounts, billing, banking, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high transaction volumes accurately
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
