About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed cashiering and bookkeeping duties, including collecting and processing student payments, third-party payments, and other receivables.
  • Analyze student accounts, prepare refunds, and manage financial aid disbursements.
  • Reconcile total collections, balance daily receipts, and prepare deposits.
  • Use college computer systems to update accounts, run reports, and assist with month-end and year-end fiscal closings.
  • Assist with the generation and distribution of tuition bills and account statements.
  • Coordinate the processing of scholarship checks with the Financial Aid office and donors.
  • Monitor delinquent accounts and process returned checks in accordance with institutional procedures.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of student financial records in compliance with FERPA.
  • Perform general clerical duties including filing, data entry, and scanning.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Two years of prior office experience, preferably in a cashiering or bookkeeping capacity.
  • Knowledge of student information systems (e.g., Colleague, Banner, or PeopleSoft) and payment platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the public, students, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
