About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents, and third parties regarding billing and payment inquiries
- Review and communicate account information and discuss viable payment plan options with students
- Document all communications within the Banner system
- Process daily payments received via ACH and mail
- Coordinate the Bursar’s Office email and provide timely responses to customer needs
- Assist with balancing cash drawers and investigating discrepancies
- Maintain compliance with FERPA, Fair Debt Collection Practices, and other related regulations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of related office experience or university-level coursework
- Prior customer service experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and conflict management skills
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages and decimals
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of FERPA restrictions
- Experience with Ellucian Banner and TouchNet
