Structures & Payloads Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish system design.
• Create, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D CAD tools.
• Perform and integrate analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet specifications.
• Manage supplier development, test, and production activities to optimize design and achieve program goals.
• Coordinate with other engineering groups to ensure product integration and support FAA certification processes.
• Apply Model Based Engineering principles and utilize project management tools and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences).
• 2+ years of related work experience.
• Experience in the structural design process from conceptual layout through package release.
• US Citizenship is required to obtain a US Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience (for Level 3) or 9+ years of experience (for Level 4).
• Experience with FAA certification processes, including Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) development.
• Experience working across multi-disciplinary teams with internal and external customers.
• Proficiency with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, CAMEO, or Earned Value Management.
• Knowledge of Model Based Engineering and industry regulatory standards.
