Structures Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform structural assessments of repairs for hot and cold section commercial engine rotating components
• Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to provide design solutions that meet life and design requirements
• Conduct independent structural analysis using classical methods and detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for strength, stress, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance
• Coordinate with team members to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes
• Document and present technical results and analysis solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
• 2 years of engineering experience or an advanced degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in structural analysis or mechanical design
• Working knowledge of ANSYS or other FEA software
• Experience with fatigue and fracture mechanics lifing systems or analysis
• Awareness of manufacturing repair processes
• Experience acting as a primary practitioner for structural analysis memos (SAMs)
