Structures Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create and manage CAD designs of components and BOM structures
• Build and analyze FE models of Node™-based vehicle structures
• Present design summaries and reports to engineers and external parties
• Develop technical solutions for automotive structures to support customer programs
• Collaborate cross-functionally to design structures optimized for mass and production
• Implement cost reduction and product improvements
• Maintain technical documentation, best practices, and lessons learned
• Support vehicle builds, product development testing, and troubleshooting

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in structural design
• CAD experience (Siemens NX is a plus)
• PLM experience (Teamcenter is a plus)
• Experience in structural analysis using Nastran, Optistruct, or LS-Dyna
• Understanding of linear/nonlinear behaviors of advanced materials
• Experience with aerospace load applications and MIL-STDs
• Strong comprehension of solid mechanics
• Ability to lawfully access information subject to US export controls

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience interfacing with engineering, testing, and manufacturing groups
• Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP, control plans, PPAP, and APQP
• Experience with fast iteration prototyping programs
• Experience managing system configurations and weight/cost constraints
• Experience with DoD airworthiness stakeholders (AFTC or FAA)
