Structures Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define the structural and major fluids design of the rocket in coordination with other vehicle subsystem owners
• Serve as the Responsible Engineer for major subsystems, owning hardware from requirements through flight
• Procure and manage all hardware for owned components and structures
• Work closely with technicians to ensure hardware is built, tested, and integrated onto the vehicle
• Develop design tools and guidelines to accelerate component development

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in aerospace structures or fluids
• Proven experience designing, building, and testing hardware
• Proficiency with CAD and analysis software
• Ability to perform work ranging from hand calculations to multi-physics finite element solutions
• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with ANSYS
• Familiarity with launch vehicle design
• Experience with cryogenic propellant systems
