About the role
Responsibilities
- Define the structural and major fluids design of the rocket in coordination with other vehicle subsystem owners
- Serve as the Responsible Engineer for major subsystems, owning hardware from requirements through flight
- Procure and manage all hardware for owned components and structures
- Work closely with technicians to ensure hardware is built, tested, and integrated onto the vehicle
- Develop design tools and guidelines to accelerate component development
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace structures or fluids
- Proven experience designing, building, and testing hardware
- Proficiency with CAD and analysis software
- Ability to perform work ranging from hand calculations to multi-physics finite element solutions
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with ANSYS
- Familiarity with launch vehicle design
- Experience with cryogenic propellant systems
