Structural Testing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support the operation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced structural and materials testing systems
• Contribute to the design, setup, instrumentation, and execution of complex experimental testing programs
• Design, modify, and fabricate custom laboratory apparatus
• Create and review technical drawing sets for manufacturing and testing
• Analyze and recommend options for project design and experimental process improvements
• Liaise with service providers to coordinate the resolution of technical and administrative issues
• Provide safety training and ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety procedures and standards

Requirements

• Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of three years of relevant technical experience in a structural or materials testing laboratory
• Experience with servo-hydraulic testing systems or advanced structural/materials testing equipment
• Experience with experimental instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems
• Proven experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or electronic systems
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or hold weights exceeding 25 kg
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in a related field
• Experience implementing experimental test setups in research or industrial testing environments
• Experience working directly with equipment vendors and manufacturers for technical support
