Structural Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of advanced complexity
• Develop and review specifications and design criteria
• Perform and check engineering analyses and calculations for materials, equipment, and systems
• Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients
• Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan, scope, cost, and schedule baselines
• Develop and review estimates, schedules, and progress reports
• Provide technical support for equipment procurement, subcontracting, and construction administration

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum ten (10) years of work-related experience
• U.S. citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Advanced knowledge of hand and computer calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structures
• Proficiency in STAAD, STAADPro, or RISA3D
• Advanced knowledge of Mathcad for analyzing complex structures
• Experience with wind and seismic loading and dynamic analysis
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with design of systems and structures for nuclear facilities under ASME NQA-1
• Experience managing and leading large projects
• Proficiency in project set-up, scheduling, and progress reporting
• Practical field experience
• EPC project experience in U.S. Department of Energy or other federal agencies
• Experience in nuclear, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries
