Structural Inspector

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily site inspections for all structural works to ensure compliance with IFC drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
• Monitor contractor activities and verify construction practices meet UAE authority requirements and international standards
• Identify deviations and issue Site Observation Reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)
• Review and validate inspections for concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, structural steel, and foundations
• Coordinate with engineers and architects to resolve structural issues and confirm corrective actions
• Verify contractor documentation, testing, and quality records including cube tests and calibration certificates
• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety protocols during all inspection activities
• Maintain organized inspection records with photographs and compliance notes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of structural site inspection experience within the UAE construction industry
• Strong understanding of structural materials, workmanship, and deterioration mechanisms
• Solid knowledge of UAE building codes and international standards
• Ability to interpret IFC drawings, shop drawings, and method statements
• Proficiency in standard inspection tools and site testing coordination
• Excellent technical report writing skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
• Valid UAE driver's license
• Ability to work in multicultural team environments and varying site conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Site safety certifications such as OSHA or NEBOSH
• Experience managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Site Observation Reports (SOR)
• Proficiency with digital inspection software and documentation tools
• Knowledge of concrete testing protocols (cube tests, FDT, plate load tests)
• Steel structural inspection experience
• Arabic language proficiency
