About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations on-site
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups to ensure project milestones are met
- Assist in reviewing engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Perform material and quantity takeoffs and conduct quantity calculations
- Assist in field surveying, work layout support, and compilation of as-built data
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and safety training
- Support project management with contract administration, reporting, and change orders
- Assist in the preparation of work plans, work packages, and purchase orders
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of construction field experience with a specific focus on structural works
- Proven experience in engineering environments and leading engineers
- Undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies in engineering plans and specifications
- Ability to travel and relocate to various project locations across Canada as needed
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in diverse climates and access all points of a construction site
