Structural Estimation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for structural design projects, including materials, labour, and overhead expenses
• Coordinate procurement activities, including sourcing materials and subcontractor services
• Obtain quotes and negotiate contracts to ensure value for money
• Collaborate with the design team to identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding project costs, budgets, and financial matters
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to align financial objectives with project goals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or related field
• Minimum 5 years experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or project controls within the Metal Fabrication industry
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Proficiency in cost-estimating software and tools
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of relevant construction contract regulations, codes, and standards
