Structural Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineers with design layouts, basic calculations, and engineering drawings
• Help prepare engineering deliverables including plans, sections, diagrams, and simple reports
• Use CAD and other engineering software to assist in preparing design documents and figures
• Collect, organize, and review project data such as surveys, as-built records, and site photos
• Update drawings and documents based on redlines and markups from senior staff
• Support coordination between different disciplines by tracking changes and updating site information
• Assist with technical documentation, presentations, and meeting materials

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural) at an accredited institution in Qatar
• Fundamental understanding of core engineering principles
• Basic proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for 2D drafting
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, plans, and sections
• Strong attention to detail and good written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to discipline-specific software such as Midas Civil, SAP2000, STAAD, ETABS, or Revit
• Familiarity with basic design workflows and documentation practices
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat for marking up drawings and documents
• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
