Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for large-scale data center and compute facilities from conceptual design through construction administration
• Develop and review structural models, calculations, drawings, and specifications using tools like Tekla Structures, ETABS, RISA, or STAAD
• Oversee multidisciplinary coordination with MEP, cooling infrastructure, and modular components
• Perform seismic analysis, vibration isolation design, and load path evaluations for high-density equipment
• Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, shop drawings, and RFIs
• Mentor junior engineers and designers to ensure high-quality delivery
• Identify risks and propose innovative solutions for cost optimization and safety compliance

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) preferred
• 10+ years of professional experience in structural engineering for building projects
• Expertise in structural design for mission-critical or hyperscale data center facilities
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (ETABS, RISA, STAAD) and CAD/BIM tools (Revit, Tekla, AutoCAD)
• Strong knowledge of building codes, seismic design, and vibration control
• Ability to travel 30-50% for site visits

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering
• Extensive experience specifically with hyperscale, colocation, or AI compute facilities
• Experience managing fast-track projects and design-build delivery
• Familiarity with modular and prefabricated construction techniques
