About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design temporary works including formwork/shoring, excavation support systems, temporary bridges, crane supports, and heavy lift planning
  • Perform structural calculations and ensure the accuracy of design drawings
  • Produce cost estimates for engineering designs
  • Analyze and design in accordance with current codes, design criteria, and structural theories
  • Communicate structural designs and ideas clearly through contractual drawings
  • Identify design risks and contribute to mitigation planning
  • Provide on-site engineering support, inspections, and peer mentoring as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering (bridge design emphasis preferred)
  • 0-3 years of relevant structural engineering design experience
  • Professional Engineer license or eligibility (CPI) in Canada
  • Knowledge of structural design codes such as CAN/CSA S6, AASHTO LRFD, AISC, and ACI
  • Ability to travel as needed for business requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for multidisciplinary teamwork

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Structural Engineering
  • Experience with Design-Build project delivery
  • Proficiency with engineering design software (e.g., MIDAS, CSI Bridge, LUSAS, SOFiSTiK)
  • Experience using AI agents and tools in engineering workflows
