Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Participate in aerospace structural design efforts and perform detailed design of various structural components
• Size and analyze components to meet program requirements, including the creation of margin reports
• Generate 3D CAD models for parts and assemblies
• Select appropriate material systems and construction techniques to meet project objectives
• Work closely with engineering technicians and shop staff to fabricate and assemble designs
• Resolve technical challenges related to the Talon-A and its integration with carrier aircraft
• Support the Talon-A Structures Lead through team guidance and mentorship

Requirements

• Ability to analyze designs using hand calculations and Finite Element Method (FEM)
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling of parts and assemblies
• Experience with composite part fabrication, manufacturing, and tooling methods
• Knowledge of aerospace fasteners, specifications, drafting, and GD&T
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, or Solidworks
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with aerospace-grade hardware and mechanical design best practices
• Experience with bonded and wet tied composite structures
• Proficiency with FEMAP or Nastran
• Experience with metallic design, manufacturing, and generating loads
• Experience with component or subsystem level test planning and static structural testing
• Active TS/SCI security clearance
