Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support construction projects at the Knolls Site by defining project scope with sponsors
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and perform drawing reviews
• Provide engineering support during the construction phase for buildings and utility projects
• Oversee architectural engineering firms in the development of concept designs and construction documents
• Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors

Requirements

• B.S. in Structural Engineering
• Experience performing structural engineering tasks, including contract document development, calculations, and cost estimates
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards
• Experience in construction administration, such as submittal reviews, RFIs, and construction inspections
• Active DOE L clearance or DOD equivalent
• US citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

• EIT certificate
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
• Engineering consulting experience
