Responsibilities

• Support construction projects at the Knolls Site within a project team environment
• Develop and define project scope with sponsors
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and drawing reviews
• Provide engineering support during the construction phase for buildings and utility projects
• Oversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates
• Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors

Requirements

• B.S. in Structural Engineering
• Experience performing structural engineering tasks including contract documents, calculations, and cost estimates
• Experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFIs, construction inspections)
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards
• Active DOE L clearance or DOD equivalent required
• US citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• EIT certificate or P.E. License
• Engineering consulting experience
• Working knowledge of NYS Building Codes, AISC, and ASCE
