Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations to compute stresses in crane runway structures using static, dynamic, and fatigue failure theories.
• Evaluate the static/dynamic strength and fatigue life of structural steel runway structures for the US and Canada.
• Utilize RISA 3D, vendor software, and in-house analytical tools to perform calculations conforming to AISC, ASCE, CSA, and CMAA specifications.
• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for onsite issues during installation, commissioning, or warranty periods.
• Support the sales team during the quotation phase of complex projects by providing guidance on design options.
• Generate detailed design drawings as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification, with a desire to obtain a PE license.
• 3-5 years of related industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASCE and IBC codes, including seismic conditions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex functions) and CAD programs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of AISC, CSA, and CMAA standards.
• Experience with electric overhead traveling (EOT) cranes.
