Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform static and dynamic analyses using software tools such as ANSYS APDL, SAP2000, GT Strudl, Staad Pro, or LS-Dyna
• Design buildings, foundations, equipment platforms, pipe racks, and miscellaneous concrete and steel structures
• Prepare project design criteria, design calculations, technical specification documents, and cost estimates
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry codes for all engineering deliverables
• Interface with designers and other disciplines to ensure multi-disciplinary review of all documentation
• Provide guidance to junior staff to support the development of engineering documentation
• Support FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in at least one state
• 5-8 years of structural engineering design experience in the nuclear, conventional power, or industrial sectors
• Proven experience in seismic design and analysis (e.g., equivalent static and response spectrum)
• In-depth knowledge of North American design codes including IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC
• Ability to travel as needed (less than 25%)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Experience specifically within the nuclear sector
• Knowledge and experience with ASME BPVC Section III
