About the role
Responsibilities
- Design temporary structures including formwork, falsework, excavation support systems, temporary bridges, and crane trestles
- Perform structural calculations and ensure the accuracy of design drawings
- Produce engineering design cost estimates
- Analyze and design according to current design codes, criteria, and structural theories
- Communicate structural designs and ideas clearly through contract drawings
- Identify design risks and assist with risk mitigation planning
- Provide on-site design engineering support, inspections, and peer mentoring as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience
- EIT licensure or eligibility within the United States
- Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MathCAD, Navisworks, RISA-3D)
- Strong academic knowledge of structural engineering and construction materials
- Ability to travel or relocate based on business needs
- Ability to access construction sites in various climates and environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Structural Engineering
- GPA above 3.0
- Previous experience with temporary structures or construction engineering
