About the role
Responsibilities
- Generate and execute comprehensive test plans and specimen designs for 3D printed systems
- Support coordination of test logistics including lifting, shipping, and fixture setup
- Generate technical documentation such as drawings, instructions, and logs
- Monitor 3D-printing processes to ensure specimen quality and conformance
- Analyze and interpret test results using analytical techniques and statistical methods
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and presentations for regulatory bodies and consultants
- Devise creative solutions to overcome technical challenges in the testing process
- Support regulatory approval processes by developing new testing methodologies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience in structural design, testing, research, or construction
- Strong understanding of mechanics of materials and structural analysis
- Experience in the design and testing of concrete and masonry structural systems
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of structural test results
- Experience conducting technical literature reviews
- Strong technical writing and drafting skills
- Familiarity with ASTM, ACI, ASCE, and building code requirements
- Ability to perform field work and occasional overnight travel
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in structural or materials engineering
- Experience with hydraulic cylinders, pumps, actuators, and data acquisition systems
- Understanding of concrete material science and mix design
- Field construction experience with concrete and masonry methods
- Experience with seismic loading analysis and testing methodologies
- Familiarity with 3D printing or additive manufacturing technologies
