Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Review exhibition stand designs for structural integrity and compliance with safety standards, health & safety guidelines, and relevant international standards.
• Conduct onsite inspections to verify that exhibition stands are constructed in accordance with approved designs and standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of inspection reports, findings, and recommendations.
• Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders including designers, contractors, and event organizers.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders as needed.
• Follow up on stand completion status and ensure that the halls are ready for opening.
• Carry out pre-opening checks.
• Check the technical drawings and calculations of the stand.
• Ensure all engineering procedures are implemented within assigned area of responsibility.
• Implement any other duties as assigned by the Director – Venues Infrastructure.
• Due to the nature of the work, timings may be affected by ongoing events; this role requires significant onsite presence and unsociable working hours (evenings, weekends, public holidays).
• Events are primarily indoors, but some outdoor/offsite activities may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent certification courses
• Minimum 4 years as a Junior Structural Engineer
• Computer literate
• Safety Certificate
• Knowledge of EBMS
• Report writing skills
• IOSH certified
• Events and exhibition experience
