Environmental Officer

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing environmental management programs for assigned projects.
• Support project and construction management in identifying and complying with environmental requirements.
• Address environmental issues as they arise during project execution.
• Support environmental training programs and oversee environmental subcontractors.
• Compile environmental baseline information.
• Perform management and technical oversight of onsite environmental officers.
• Handle general office administration for efficient daily functioning.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and construction control plans.
• Write sections in option studies related to environmental, permitting, and community aspects.
• Support internal audits to ensure procedural compliance.
• Monitor the project environment regularly and maintain records.
• Maintain updated lists of waste water and ventilation gas sources.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0-4 years of experience in construction projects
• Basic knowledge of environment and waste management
• Prior experience in oil, gas, petrochemical, or power plants as an officer
• Experience in engineering & construction company

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional knowledge of environmental management (international and local standards and procedures)
• Awareness of local base environmental issues
• Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel
• Knowledge of hazardous waste management and disposal
• Understanding of environmental management systems and their use in projects
• Ability to conduct environmental impact assessments and develop mitigation measures
• Experience with environmental monitoring and reporting
• Data analysis and technical report writing skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Attention to detail and multitasking
• Problem-solving skills for environmental issues
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements
• Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship
