Structural Designer

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design group team members to review and exchange project information necessary for design and development
• Check designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements
• Collaborate with engineers and multiple disciplines to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures
• Leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, drawings, and details
• Resolve design issues effectively with input from responsible engineers
• Mentor other team members in design and modeling techniques
• Report task progress to the Lead Designer

Requirements

• Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design (CAD)
• 5+ years of structural design experience using Tekla or Revit
• Proficiency in Navisworks software for design and review clash detection
• Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
• Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

• DOE and Commercial Nuclear experience
