Structural Designer

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality CAD designs and drawings for estimates and projects based on engineering information.
• Coordinate with estimating and design group team members to exchange necessary project information.
• Check designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and multiple disciplines to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures.
• Leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, drawings, and details.
• Resolve design issues effectively with input from responsible engineers.
• Mentor other team members in design and modeling techniques.
• Develop preliminary concrete and steel models for estimating purposes.

Requirements

• Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design (CAD).
• 5+ years of structural design experience using Tekla or Revit.
• Proficiency in Navisworks software for design and review clash detection.
• Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Ability to pass a background check.

• Experience with DOE and Commercial Nuclear projects.
