Structural Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design technical lead tasks for the Structures Capability Team
• Develop detail and modification design concepts for structural modifications and mechanical components using CATIA V5 and ENOVIA
• Integrate detail design of parts and hardware installation to support manufacturing efforts
• Analyze and resolve design problems and discrepancies using emerging technologies
• Support internal and external design reviews, including Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR)
• Provide technical expertise to resolve customer inquiries for post-production fleet sustainment
• Manage Material Review Board (MRB) actions and provide engineering design dispositions
• Document processes, specifications, and procedures for structural commodities
• Develop complex statements of work, metrics, schedules, and budgets

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, or Material Sciences)
• 1+ years of experience in Model Based Definition (MBD)
• 1+ years of experience using CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and/or DELMIA
• Experience working with configuration management tools such as CMPro or Teamcenter
• 1+ years of experience maintaining and supporting process updates and engineering changes
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of higher education and/or related work experience
• 3+ years of experience using CATIA V5 and ENOVIA
• Experience leading a team of engineers with responsibility for cost, schedule, and technical quality
