Structural Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide inline design, development, and test support of propulsion systems for NASA’s Human Launch Systems.
• Bridge the gap between traditional hardware design and cutting-edge optimization using artificial intelligence.
• Engage in multi-discipline engineering teams to create new designs, including CAD models, documents, and drawings.
• Use CREO parametric modeling software, including extensions for piping and additive manufacturing.
• Collaborate with vendors and NASA personnel to develop integrated flight hardware and ground test equipment.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil Engineering, or a related field (MS preferred).
• 13-15 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design software such as CREO, NX CAD, or Solidworks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with high-level programming languages such as Python.
• Hands-on experience developing AI/ML models using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
• Experience with machine learning, neural networks, and AI model deployment in a hardware context.
