Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Estimator

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope
• Prepare detailed estimates and backup documentation
• Solicit and evaluate project-specific proposals from material suppliers
• Develop options and recommend best value solutions based on cost and engineering
• Maintain positive relationships with owners, engineers, and subcontractors
• Assist operations with awarded contracts and pricing change orders
• Work with Preconstruction Specialists to develop professional proposals
• Develop conceptual proposals to support business development
• Maintain existing estimating productivity database

Requirements

• 7+ years of estimating experience
• Strong understanding of conceptual estimating and cost control
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
• Ability to prepare proposals with minimum supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
