About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver structural assessments for turbomachinery components including fans, compressors, combustors, nozzles, turbines, seals, and pressurized cases
- Plan, support, and document tests ranging from material characterization to full engine-based validation
- Use structural analysis methods to conduct test and failure investigations
- Provide timely structural dispositions to support production requests
- Mentor design and analysis engineers to improve design durability and analytical capabilities
- Develop analytical tools and methods to drive accuracy, innovation, and efficiency
- Communicate analysis results, conclusions, and recommendations to internal and external customers
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering
- 3+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Demonstrated understanding of structural mechanics
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for static structural, vibratory, and heat transfer solutions
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of turbomachinery failure modes, including low/high cycle fatigue, fracture mechanics, and creep
- U.S. Citizenship required (ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ANSYS
- Working knowledge of gas turbine engines and associated manufacturing techniques
- Experience with FAA 14 CFR Part 33 certification requirements
