About the role

Responsibilities

  • Deliver structural assessments for turbomachinery components including fans, compressors, combustors, nozzles, turbines, seals, and pressurized cases
  • Plan, support, and document tests ranging from material characterization to full engine-based validation
  • Use structural analysis methods to conduct test and failure investigations
  • Provide timely structural dispositions to support production requests
  • Mentor design and analysis engineers to improve design durability and analytical capabilities
  • Develop analytical tools and methods to drive accuracy, innovation, and efficiency
  • Communicate analysis results, conclusions, and recommendations to internal and external customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of structural mechanics
  • Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for static structural, vibratory, and heat transfer solutions
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of turbomachinery failure modes, including low/high cycle fatigue, fracture mechanics, and creep
  • U.S. Citizenship required (ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ANSYS
  • Working knowledge of gas turbine engines and associated manufacturing techniques
  • Experience with FAA 14 CFR Part 33 certification requirements
